Style_Lynn Favorites: Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Happy Memorial Day babes!

I hope you all are having an amazing weekend and day so far! I had a fun filled weekend between a bachelorette party and a Sunday (too much) fun day I think today is going to be a little more low key 🙂 The Mr. got back from the Indy 500 last night and since all of these super hero movies are out I predict we will end up at the theatre today, but soaking up all the time I can in my pajamas!

Also, taking advantage of this down time to do some online shopping  during my favorite sale of the year!! Below are items I am currently coveting and are all in my cart right now, haha! I will need to scale it back a bit so which items should I choose?!

Top | Shorts (similar here and here) | Heels | Bag (similar) | Earrings | Bracelets |  Ring (similar)

You can never go wrong with black and white! I accessorized with bright pink earrings and nude heels to “summer up” this look! Unfortunately, these exact shorts are sold out, but I linked up 2 must have pairs above!

What are your plans for the Memorial day weekend?! The Mr. will be out of town attending the Indy 500. He goes every year for “work”. Such a hard life he lives! LOL 🙂

I will be staying back in Houston celebrating a girlfriend’s bachelorette party and then I will be spending some much needed quality time, pool side, with some of my best friends. If you aren’t following me on snap (roselyn_m) you may want to start now as I’m pretty funny after a few glasses of champs! 🙂 I’d love to hear what you are all up to!

As always, thank you so much for reading! Wishing you all a weekend that is as fabulous as you are!

1 Palm Print Dress = 2 Pretty Looks With Nordstrom

Fun prints have quickly filled my closet this season and I ain’t mad about it! Does this slip dress look familiar? I linked it a few weeks ago in a post here. It’s so comfy and can be styled so many ways. If you guys only wanted to buy one dress this summer make it this one (in all colors)! Haha!

This dress is as comfy as it is versatile! I love the many ways you can style this look and I absolutely adore the vibrant palm print against the pink!

Look 1: Casual

c/o Dress | L/S Top | Sneaks | Miu Miu Sunnies (use code stylelynn for your first month free)

Isn’t this look so fun?! Totally weekend and travel appropriate! Forgive me as my mind has totally been ready for a vacation! This outfit is also perfect for running errands, yada yada haha!

Another great styling option would be with a cute denim jacket or if you are in the Texas heat like me then a denim vest will be equally as cute!

Look 2: Night out with your plus one

IMG_0038[1]IMG_0035[2]IMG_0034[1]IMG_0033[1]IMG_0037[1]

c/o Dress | Cape Blazer | Heels | Clutch (similar)

This printed slip dress is so perfect for a night out especially paired with a cape blazer. I love how the cape blazer dresses up the look, but unlike a regular blazer it definitely brings a little more sass!

I hope you all are having a great week so far, but no matter how great the week we are all still looking forward to a long weekend! Am I right?!

Thank you all so much for reading! Happy Wednesday!

Red, White & Not New

Yes it’s Monday and yes I’m already talking about the coming weekend 🙂

I am all about getting festive for every National holiday, but going out and buying something new for every holiday can get costly so today I am sharing 2 Memorial Day inspired outfits that I pulled out of my closet and instantly made holiday appropriate with 1 simple accessory, a bandana!

Accessorizing with bandanas are all the rage right now so if you have been wanting to try the trend now is the time!

LOOK 1:

IMG_9998[1]IMG_9997[1]IMG_9988[1]

Romper (similar here and here) | Bandana | Shoes | Sunnies (similar)

LOOK 2:

IMG_0002[1]IMG_0003[1]IMG_0004[1]

Tank | Denim | Bandana (mine is somewhere between this color and this color) | Heels | Sunnies (similar) | Bracelets

So I have 2 confessions. First one is that I purchased both of these bandanas at the Dollar Tree last year! They were actually part of my table décor for the 4th of July but this year they will be part of my ensemble. Second confession is that both pairs of sunglasses shown above were purchased at souvenir shops LOL. The American flag ones were from our DC trip in February. I was itching to wear them again!

So throw on your favorite white tee and jeans or your favorite romper, accessorize with a bandana and you will be on trend ready to celebrate a much needed 3 day weekend!

But let’s not forget the real reason of the Memorial Day celebration. We must pay our respects to those who have died for our freedom and let’s also be sure to thank those for their service any chance we get! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I can’t wait to see your upcoming bandana accessorizing!

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Mia Wine Tasting + Review

I really should be calling this post woman crush wednesday because I am kind of crushing on this total boss babe winemaker, business woman and mother named Gloria Collell.

Gloria Collell 1

“Gloria is from a family dedicated to wine so naturally many of Gloria’s memories growing up revolve around wine: the aroma of the bodega when the barrels would be filled by the wholesaler; the fairs where, even as a child, she helped her parents show wine; and most of all, the tastings her family conducted at home”.

 Print

Mia wines hosted a dinner and tasting at Armandos last Tuesday evening. When I received the invitation I had not yet heard of Mia wines, but I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to meet the winemaker herself and to learn more about the brand/wine.

I had the honor to be seated at the same table as Gloria. As expected, she presented gracefully and explained each wine as we tasted it with food, but it was the intimate table conversation where I came to realize that she truly was in tuned and interested in the consumer’s feedback about the wines.

IMG_9782[1]

When describing the brand and her vision, she stated that it was a creation for the modern consumer. I would describe someone like myself as a modern consumer. An individual who loves a good glass of wine but by no means is a wine connoisseur. When it comes to wine, my pallet knows what it likes, but my wine vocabulary lacks in a sense that I could not tell you what key “notes” I favored. Does this sound like you? I know I like white wine but I don’t like it too sweet. I know I like red wine but I don’t want it too dry or “oakey”. This may sound silly and pretty simple to a wine connoisseur yet it seemed as if no one else was listening to the modern consumer…until now.

Like I said I was very lucky to be able to converse with Gloria as she shared the consumer and marketing research they did to ensure the brands success. She was very knowledgeable in the industry and the wine definitely validate that her and the Mia team are listening to what the modern consumer is asking for. The wine is fresh, easy to drink and budget friendly! It’s the type of wine you can stock up on for those unexpected guests and serve to everyone’s satisfaction.

MIA

The 2 wines that tied as my favorite were the Red and the White, then the Moscato Rose, Moscato and Rose all tied for second 🙂

Mia wines can be purchased in a few Specs locations as of today and the Moscato Rose can be found in a few HEB’s, however have no fear as they have shipments currently on the water from Barcelona and you can expect to find them in more Spec’s ad HEB’s at the beginning of June! MSRP range from $9-$12.

Also, friends and family do not be surprised when you get a bottle or two in your next birthday basket!

Have you tried this lovely wine yet?! I would love to hear your thoughts!

Printed Pants + 31 Days Of Prayer

Happy Monday darlings!

If you haven’t joined the printed pants party, now is the time! These beauties are currently only $10!

Cami | Blazer | Pants (and similar here) | Heels | Necklace | Bracelet | Ring (similar) | Prada Sunnies (use code stylelynn20 at checkout for a free months subscription)

As you can probably tell by my outfits, I love my prints! If you are weary of trying the printed pants trend a neutral color like these are a great way to start. I paired mine with a brightly colored cami for the perfect summer look and topped it off with a blazer to make it church and office appropriate.

You could pair yours with your favorite summer color or keep it in the neutral family with a beige or white top. Any color would be equally cute as these pants do all the styling for you!

I wanted to share these books with you that I recently purchased at unveiledwife.com. We received 2 books for us each to read for the next 31 days. Chapters cover topics such as your wife’s/husbands health, clinging to truth, breaking strongholds, relinquishing worries and also a chapter that covers grace in marriage. Throughout the book there are challenges for both of us. I did skip ahead to take a peek at the first challenge, but I won’t share that because we aren’t that far yet. 🙂 The Unveiled Wife has many other books too so be sure to check out her site. I think these books are so great because though Brandon and I pray daily and for each other it’s nice to know that we are being guided to pray for specific areas of each others life ensuring that we are challenged to make prayer a priority. Like anything in life, it’s always a good thing to change things up! Even in prayer! I’ll be sure to share when we are done reading!

I would love to hear if you have read these books or any of her other books!

I hope you all had a great weekend and wishing you a blessed week!

Thank you so much for reading!

3 C’s = Cactus Prints, Chiropractors and Coconut Oil

Happy Friday!

I’m not here to talk to you about the 3 C’s of effective communication or how to find the perfect diamond, but read on and I promise to share some other helpful knowledge!

IMG_9676[1]IMG_9678[1]IMG_9680[1]IMG_9681[1]IMG_9683[1]

Sweatshirt (I purchased the one shown above in-store at H&M. Linking the tee version here and another fun Asos style here) | Denim | Heels (similar here and here) | Sunnies

I snagged this fun sweatshirt from H&M when we were in New Orleans last month. It is so comfy and perfect for weekend wear! I actually wore this with some printed black and white shorts the day after I bought it, but none of the pictures that Brandon took of me that day were blog worthy, haha! But I sure did get a ton of powdered sugar all over it when I was devouring my Café Du Monde beignet!

So I know the title of this post may have thrown you off, but in addition to this fun cactus print top I wanted to share a couple new regimens with you that have totally changed my life!

CHIROPRACTOR

If you know me personally or have been reading the blog for some time now you know that I had been suffering from really bad migraines for almost a year. All of sudden, I started getting them last year and I could not figure out why. My doctor asked me to keep a food journal, they took my blood to see if it was a new allergy and the next step was to schedule an MRI. Of course, the 5 year old in me was doing all that I could to avoid that so I tried acupuncture which was actually instantly relief, but the migraines made their way back the following day. My sister in law and some friends told me I should try a chiropractor. Again, trying to avoid getting an MRI I took my first visit to the chiropractor. The first day was instant relief, but the next day I could feel a little lingering headache. The chiropractor advised that I should come every other day for the first week to see a real difference so I did and guess what guys?! I have been migraine free for over a month now!! In the past month I have gone 4 times, but now that I am clear of all migraines he suggested I could start coming in once a month or every other month. Seriously, if you have been on the fence about visiting a chiropractor for anything I say you totally need to try it! I probably would have never gone if my sister in law and friends did not keep suggesting it. Apparently, they can help in the baby making area too but that’s a story for another day! 🙂

COCONUT OIL

Okay, so now my coconut oil secrets! Well, not really a secret! 🙂 You already know that coconut oil can be used for so many things; hair, skin and cooking obviously. Well, did you know that they can help rid of cavities too?!

All my life I have been cavity prone. I promise you it’s not because I eat cupcakes and cookies all the time! I really do take good care of my teeth, but some people are just more likely to get cavities than others. Last October, I went in for a routine deep cleaning and the dentist told me that I had 5 cavities. Yes, 5 you guys! She didn’t have time to fill them that day so I scheduled to come in the following week. But when the following week came I was standing in the dentist office and for some reason my appointment was not on their calendar and they couldn’t see me that day. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I was headed to Fiji that very next day. So frustrated and oh so ready for vacation I didn’t schedule another appointment. That’s when the hubby sent me an article on “oil pulling”. Oil pulling is done for oral detoxification by “swishing” a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for about 15 minutes. The article stated that this method pulls and lifts any bacteria from your mouth.

Since we would be on vacation for quite some time and I didn’t want any of my teeth to fall out (I’m dramatic I know) I started this method immediately. After weeks out of the country and then life happening when we returned I didn’t make it to the dentist until 3 months later and you will never guess what they told me!! I only had 2 cavities!! I know cavities are not something to be excited about, but I’m just trying to tell you oil pulling totally works!!! If you read articles you will see that some people actually completely replace brushing with this method, but that is not my jam. I still brush regularly, but every other night I try to oil pull.

Are there any of you that have tried this method? Or anyone that has suffered from migraines that has not visited a chiropractor yet? I highly recommend both of these! I would love to hear your experience or feedback!!

Thank you so much for reading!

Endless Parties Means Effortless Dresses

When you have multiple events back to back on a Saturday, you need a pretty dress that you can throw on and go on! That’s where this pretty number comes to play!

IMG_9614[1]IMG_9615[1]IMG_9617[1]IMG_9620[1]IMG_9616[1]IMG_9618[1]

Dress | Heels | Clutch (similar) | Earrings | Bracelets (here, here and here) | Ring (similar)

Last Saturday was a busy (but oh so fun!) one. With a blogger brunch, housewarming party and a graduation party all in one day (that of course were at all opposite ends of the greater Houston area) I opted for this printed slip dress that was just perfect for all we had to do that day.

Because of its fun, bold print I accessorized simply with a red heel, some Alex and Ani bracelets and perfect for everyday pearl earrings. The fabric of this dress is so lightweight making it ideal for warmer weather and did we have beautiful weather last weekend! Also, no lie you guys I was so exhausted when we got home Saturday night that I just washed my face and fell asleep in this dress, LOL.

So a party dress that is comfortable enough to sleep in? That’s definitely a win, right?! Plus you can make this slip dress perfect for church or work by pairing it with a blazer or cardigan. I mean a dress you can brunch in, party in, pray in, work in AND sleep in? Are you convinced yet?! : )

Also, this dress comes in so many other prints and colors. I am going to need them all! : ) I just purchased this one and I have a pretty good feeling this color and this one will be added to my closet soon.

I hope you all are having an amazing week so far! Thanks for reading!!

From Weekend To Work With Nordstrom

Let’s be honest, if I try something on and it doesn’t work for both the office and the weekend I’m probably still going to buy it anyway if I love it, but it is definitely a plus when you find something cute and can style it for multiple occasions!

I am loving the palm print trend so much that it was just a matter of time I was going to find a piece that I could also style for the work week. Once I saw this Topshop beauty I knew it was the one 🙂 Since it is a button up style it can easily be styled with slacks, a skinny belt and strappy heels for the office.

Work Look:

IMG_9562[1]IMG_9563[1]IMG_9564[1]IMG_9565[1]IMG_9566[1]

Top | Pants | Belt | Shoes | Tote (similar)

Weekend Look:

Here I go with my cut off denim again guys! Haha! #sorrynotsorry that I don’t ever think I will grow out of them, but there is definitely a way to make them “look your age”. This chic button up, blocked heel and blush purse does the trick!

IMG_9558[1]IMG_9560[1]IMG_9559[1]IMG_9561[1]

Top | Shorts | Shoes (similar) | Handbag (similar) | Sunnies (similar here and here) | Necklace

So are you all loving this print as much as I am? If you are, you need this top in your life! 🙂

I hope you all had an amazing weekend and Mother’s Day! Unfortunately,  I didn’t get to spend the day with my Mom because she’s in CA but of course we chatted via face time before her and my Dad went out for their celebration! I’ll see her again in just a few weeks so I am so looking forward to that!

I hope you all had a perfect day and wishing you a blessed week!

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading!!
