Floral Maxi & Wedding Season Don’ts

The season is upon us guys! Wedding season! Not only does that give you an excuse to go on the hunt for a new dress, you’ll also need one to attend your friends’ engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party and possibly the rehearsal dinner so it’s time to break into that pretty dress fund! πŸ™‚

I absolutely adore this floral maxi! Can you spot the 3 spring trends in this one dress?

1) Floral print 2)Maxi Dress 3) Lace up detail  πŸ™‚

I love the femininity that the all over floral print brings to this dress and how the lace up detail and high side slits brings the sexy! This dress basically brings it all to the table so I just accessorized with peach earrings, simple nude heels and a pretty mauve clutch. I know I will get so much wear out of this dress but let me tell you why I will not be wearing this number to this weekends bridal shower festivities.

  1. Let the bride-to-be wear white. I may be a little old fashioned on this one, but unless the celebrant requests that everyone wear white steer away from wearing it. I know that this dress is printed, but personally I think it still has too much of a white base for a bridal shower guest.
  2. Remember you’ll most likely be meeting Grandmothers and Moms you have never met before. Steer away from wearing anything too short, sheer or low cut.
  3. If the bride is having a themed shower, respect it. I know, I know maybe you were dying to wear that new dress you bought and now it doesn’t go with the theme. Don’t worry you’ll have another fabulous gala you can wear it to. Brides rules guys!

That’s it! See how easy that is! It is the 21st century so some rules that may have applied before (no black, no pants etc.) are totally thrown out the window now, but respectfully let’s vow never to throw the 3 above rules out the window! These 3 rules should be followed for all of your wedding-esque festivites! Now, let’s party!

  1. I love this post! I agree, I never wear white to weddings or bridal events either, it is there time to shine! I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to those things also. I think it’s important to set your desires that day and focus your attention on your gorgeous friend getting married! Plus it’s even better reason to go out and buy a new dress right? lol

    1. Yes, any reason to shop for another dress!! I’m glad I am hearing many people agree with this no white rule!! You are right it’s the brides day and she should be the center of attention!! Happy Sunday Morgan!

  2. I love a good maxi dress! The details on this one are simply gorgeous. I love the crisscross on top with the feminine floral look. Gives it a bit of an edge! Fun read (:
